Privacy Policy — Sun Pathway

Plain-language summary: Sun Pathway does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. All processing happens entirely on your device. We have no servers that receive your data, no accounts, and no analytics. Your location is never sent anywhere.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Andrey Tyurin ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Sun Pathway mobile application (the "App"). Sun Pathway is an augmented reality camera app that calculates and displays the sun's path across the sky.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Because Sun Pathway is designed to work entirely on-device, we have structured the App to collect as little data as possible — in most cases, none at all.

By using Sun Pathway you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

Sun Pathway does not collect any of the following:

Personal identifiers (name, email address, phone number, user ID)
Accounts or user profiles of any kind
Analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry
Advertising identifiers (IDFA or equivalent)
Browsing history or behavioral data
Any data shared with third-party advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers

There are no third-party SDKs in the App that collect data on our behalf. We use no advertising networks, analytics frameworks, or social media integrations.

3. Location Data (GPS)

Sun Pathway requests access to your device's location to calculate the sun's position relative to you. This is the core function of the App — solar azimuth and altitude calculations require geographic coordinates.

Location is used only on-device for astronomical calculations.
Your location coordinates are never transmitted to any server, network service, or third party.
Real-time location is held in memory only for as long as the App is active and is discarded when the App is closed.
A named location (e.g., "My Apartment") is stored only when you explicitly save it using the save-location feature. Saved locations are written to your device's local storage only.
Saved locations are deleted when you remove them in the App or when you uninstall the App.

      You can revoke location permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Sun Pathway. Without location access, the App will prompt you to enter coordinates manually.
    

4. Camera

Sun Pathway uses your device camera to display a live AR overlay showing the sun's arc. Camera usage is limited to the following:

Live camera frames are rendered on-screen in real time and are never recorded, stored, or transmitted by the App.
The App does not perform facial recognition, object detection, or any other analysis of camera imagery.
When you use the snapshot feature, a still image is saved directly to your device's Photo Library. This action is always user-initiated — the App never saves photos automatically.
Photos saved to your Photo Library are stored on your device and are subject to Apple's iCloud settings, which are outside our control.

      You can revoke camera permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → Sun Pathway. Without camera access, the App will display a 2D compass-based sun path view instead.
    

5. Compass and Motion Data

The App uses your device's magnetometer (compass), accelerometer, and gyroscope to determine device orientation and correctly position the AR sun arc overlay.

Compass and motion sensor data are processed entirely on-device, in memory.
This data is never stored to disk and never transmitted.
No sensor data is retained after the App session ends.

6. Photos Saved to Your Photo Library

When you take a snapshot within the App, the image is saved to your iOS Photo Library using Apple's Photos framework. This means:

The photo is stored locally on your device.
If you have iCloud Photos enabled, Apple may sync the photo to iCloud in accordance with Apple's own privacy policy.
Andrey Tyurin has no access to photos saved to your library.

7. In-App Purchases

Sun Pathway offers optional In-App Purchases for Pro and Agent features. All purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple's App Store and StoreKit framework.

Andrey Tyurin does not receive, process, or store any payment information.
Purchase receipts are validated on-device via StoreKit — no receipt data is sent to our servers.
We store a local flag indicating whether a purchase is active; this flag contains no financial or personal data.

8. Third-Party Services

Sun Pathway does not integrate with any third-party services, including:

Analytics platforms (e.g., Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude)
Advertising networks (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Audience Network)
Crash reporting tools (e.g., Crashlytics, Sentry)
Social media SDKs
Cloud storage or sync services (beyond Apple's native frameworks)

The only external service involved is Apple's App Store for In-App Purchase validation, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

All data associated with Sun Pathway is stored locally on your device. There is no server-side storage.

Real-time sensor and location data: held in memory only; discarded when the App is closed.
Saved locations: stored in the App's local container; deleted when you remove the location in-app or uninstall the App.
Purchase state: stored locally; cleared on uninstall.

To delete all App data, uninstall Sun Pathway from your device. iOS will remove all associated data from the App's local container upon uninstallation.

10. GDPR and International Privacy Rights

Because Sun Pathway does not collect, process, or transmit any personal data to Andrey Tyurin or any third party, the obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and equivalent laws do not apply to Andrey Tyurin in the context of this App.

11. Children's Privacy

Sun Pathway does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because no personal data is collected at all, the App is not subject to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) restrictions on data collection from children.

12. Accuracy Disclaimer

Sun position calculations are provided as informational estimates only, not as guarantees of actual sunlight conditions.

Solar positions are calculated using standard NOAA astronomical algorithms based on your device's GPS coordinates, date, and time. These calculations represent the theoretical position of the sun in an unobstructed sky.

Actual sunlight received at any specific location may vary significantly due to:

Buildings, structures, fences, and other man-made obstructions
Trees, vegetation, and natural terrain features
Cloud cover, fog, haze, and other weather conditions
Window glazing, tinting, or interior obstructions
Compass calibration accuracy of the device

The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Andrey Tyurin makes no representations that the App's calculations will be accurate for any specific use case. Do not rely solely on Sun Pathway for decisions involving property purchase, architectural design, agricultural planning, solar panel installation, or any other matter where actual sunlight conditions are critical.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of the page. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes.

Continued use of Sun Pathway after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
